 For years, I felt hopeless and alone struggling with unresolved grief and despair. 

Even as I was learning how to incorporate more holistic habits into my life, I still did not (ever) want to get out of bed in the morning because everyday was dark and gloomy

One day I was introduced to a product that a lot of people are talking about these days. To be honest, I had heard about it and even thought about it in the past but I was skeptical. I am not into "fads". This time, I learned about the company who made it and trusted the source, so I tried it. 

Now my life is dramatically different. I used to have to put a fake smile on my face and pretend I wasn't dying inside. Life FEELS better. 

I live up in the hills of Central New York with my multi-generational family. Growing our homestead, living a "rooted" life. Tapping into the magic of the Universal Laws, enjoying nature and offering hope to others with tips, tools and resources that have worked for me.

All the Fall Feels....

All the Fall Feels....
The leaves have started turning, cool winds are blowing and we woke up to frost today.  My heart is drawn to nature, I feel most connected anytime I am in her presence. Every morning I walk my chocolate lab Molly and what ever season-I turn to the trees. To me they represent the importance of being grounded or rooted in life. They have strength and wisdom that we can all learn from. I mean we have all had a tremendous year thus far, am I right? It almost feels like it is too much. 

So I choose to be like a Tree...

In many areas of the world, the trees leaves are now changing to radiant colors of red, orange and yellow. It is a time of transition. The trees will soon release their leaves as a natural response to the changing earth cycle. The trees are preparing for winter and in turn begin to conserve their energy as a strategy to survive the harsher conditions ahead.  This shedding of the leaves may also help trees to pollinate in the coming spring.

What a beautiful lesson we can learn from the trees. When times get tough, they don’t give up or wither away. Instead, they “go with the flow” of Mother Nature for the next cycle of their life. We too have cycles and now is a great time to release what no longer is serving you.
This is your life and your journey-YOU are responsible for it. So if you have too much on your plate or not satisfied with how your world appears, make the necessary changes.

We need to clear space for new beginnings, new growth.

I have learned that I need to be committed to myself and my life to make the necessary changes for growth.Here is what I am doing, it may benefit you as well:)

First step is to acknowledge what it is that needs to be released.  Take some time in quiet contemplation or even journaling and prepare for your next cycle. Review your life as it is now. 

What are your desires for the future? What in your life is no longer useful or needed in your emerging self?  This may include unhealthy relationships, a career you are unfulfilled in, bad habits or even material possessions.

The second step is to devise your plan of action. Are there steps you need to take prior or during the process? These action steps will be variable according to “what” it is your releasing. I would stick to 3-5 action steps-if you have too many-you will overwhelm and give up. 

Make a “to do” list if you will and add time frames in which you hope to accomplish each of your steps. Do not get discouraged if you do not meet your completion date-simply continue to take action and trust the process. Use conscious language if you have not met a goal by a certain date, it just hasn't happened, yet. 

The third step is to actively work on your action steps, revise if need be. Taking action is the most important step in making changes to truly live a life you love.

So remember: Commit to yourself, take action steps and Release the unneeded. You’ve got this!

Begin to let go and trust the process. This can be a slow process (depending on what you are releasing), takes determination and often hard work but that is OK.  

Releasing those “things” in your life that are no longer serving you can be such a liberating feeling. You feel lighter, a sense of relief and you are creating space for inner peace, self-love and growth.

Just think how much you could grow by spring!!

I am sure you have heard about companies like Revlon, Maybelline, Aveeno, dove, Estee Lauder, L'Oreal or the body shop. Many of their products have so many unknown ingredients and cost more than what you would spend in creating your own. How would you feel if you KNEW the ingredients in the products you were using were safe? Have you even thought about it?

Stop and think for a hot minute. Do you know anyone with cancer? Or anyone having trouble getting pregnant? Or anyone who has children who are behind developmentally? Or who is exhausted ALL the time? Maybe this describes you?

Facial cleanser
Regular cleansing is an important part of healthy, youthful skin-but you can over do it. Dermatologists agree over washing your face can lead to irritation and lack of moisture. If you have overlay oily skin-you should wash your face in the morning and evening. If your skin is n the drier side-you should stick with once a day in the evening. Always wash your face after work outs to prevent breakouts. 

Tips to getting the most of of your cleanser:
1. Take make up off before you cleanse. Most cleansers will not take off all the make up so start with an oil based make up remover. I like these SAVVY WIPES
2. Avoid drastic temperature changes when washing your face-that whole wash your face hot and finish cold is a myth and can actually cause irritation.
3. It is a good idea to cleanse your face in the shower-mild steam can help soften hardened oils in pores. 
4. Alternate your cleanser three times per week with a gentle face scrub-you can do this more or less depending on how your skin feels. The SATIN MINT SCRUB is Amazing for exfoliation. The exfoliating beads are made of jojoba beads-it's gentle, effective and refreshing.
